Entry and Risk 

You enter Blinkwater at your own risk. The owners, agents and employees will not be held responsible for loss, damage or injury. 

Water Safety

There are many swimming places at Blinkwater, both built swimming pools and in the river. The big pools are very deep. Do not allow your children to go near any water body unattended. 

Wildlife Safety

You are in the wild. Be careful of and respect all wild creatures.
Be aware that there are scorpions, spiders and snakes which may be poisonous and dangerous.
Check yourself and your children every night for ticks.
Leopards and baboons have been seen in the mountains. Don’t encourage them by leaving food out.

Security and Crime

Although Blinkwater feels like heaven, it is situated in South Africa and so the usual precautions must be taken: lock up your valuables, don’t leave valuables visible in your vehicles, don’t leave items outside overnight, report suspicious visitors.

Fire Safety 

Don’t build open fires as the surrounding veld burns easily.  Use the braai stands and fire pits provided.
Be sure to completely extinguish your fire before moving away from it.
